To foray into the commercial aircraft MRO market
based on its profound experience for military MRO,
KAI established KAEMS, a subsidiary on July 2018
and was designated by the MoTIE(Ministry of Land,
Infrastructure, and Transport) as a specialized MRO
company after acquiring certificates, such as
AMO(Approved Maintenance Organization) and
SMS(Safety Management System). Starting with
heavy maintenance of the airframe, KAI will expand
the scope of maintenance to components and
engines to stand on tiptoe as a “Hub of Asia”
of the MRO cluster.
